Is Lionel Messi playing vs El Salvador?

The short answer is no. Messi was initially called up by Scaloni with the Argentina coach confirming he would speak to Inter Miami over Messi's hamstring injury.

Speculation has continued that he could still join up with the squad, despite Tata Martino wanting him to rest for the return of the CONCACAF Champions Cup in April, and an agreement is likely to keep him out of action to remain fit in the long term for club and country in 2024.
