3QT: Gold Coast leads West Coast by 3x pointsThe Eagles tried to run down the clock, but the defence was still under pressure, and a chip out of defence was marked by Ben Ainsworth. His kick after the siren hit the post, but that's still a 34-point break.
The Suns kicked 6.3 to 1.1 that quarter, and it's hard to see the Eagles closing the gap much from here.
This is an avalanche now.
The Suns go to the hotspot, jarrod Witts taps it down, and Matt Rowell bursts into the gap and snaps his second in a minute.
The Suns dominance is growing - they have 19 inside 50s to 5 this quarter. The latest one saw Eagles tackle Matt Rowell high around the head.
The free is given, and Rowell converts the set shot.
Gold Coast extends to a 27-point lead.
This game is breaking open - the Suns have all the momentum, and they are racking up inside 50s.
This time they hit up Ben King inside the arc.
He marks and converts for his second. The lead is out to 21 points.
One of the signs that Gold Coast is well on top right now is the fact that they lead inside 50s so far in the third quarter by 9-3.
It's the repeat entries that are wearing down the Eagles defence.
Great move from Gold Coast!
Once again, it's Jake Rogers who gets the ball out and forward.
It comes to Touk Miller who finds Bailey Humphrey inside 50 - he bursts through a tackle and gets it out to Noah Anderson, who dribbles home his second of the day.
Suns out to a 14-point lead.
The home side do it again!
The Suns get the centre clearance and go forward - the ball stops inside 50 but Jake Rogers goes in to get it out, he feeds it across to Ben Ainsworth, and he snaps the Suns' ninth.
Wow, a great answer from the Suns!
They force the ball forward and Ben King handballs out to Jake Rogers, who bursts away and kicks on the run from 40.
Great goal! He joins Will Graham in getting his first AFL goal!
The immediate answer is yes!
The Eagles go forward from the start of the third term, and a solid chip inside 50 ends up with Jamie Cripps.
He lines up from 40 out and bisects the posts for a goal!
Eagles in front again!
Can the Eagles get the jump again?
Noah Anderson is the clear top ball-getter on the ground right now, with four kicks and 16 handballs (plus a goal).
Jeremy McGovern for the Eagles is holding the fort at the back, with 12 possessions including seven intercepts.
The state of play at half-time:
Inside 50s: GC 28 WC 20
Clearances: GC 24 WC 11
Centre Clearances: GC 9 WC 4
Stoppage Clearances: GC 15 WC 7
Contested Possessions: GC 65 WC 55

HT: Gold Coast leads West Coast by three pointsA turnover from the Suns gave West Coast a late chance, and Jake Waterman converted a set shot from deep in the pocket after the siren.
That was a ripping quarter with five goals to four to the Suns to give them a slight edge, but they have a fight on their hands here.
The Eagles are right in this — it will be fascinating to see who gets the job done after the long break.
Again, there is little fluency at the moment - there are a lot of tackles and balls being spilled and kicks going wide of the mark.
But finally Tom Berry hits up the square, it falls to Bailey Humphrey and he soccers it home to give the Suns a 10-point lead!
It's scrappy stuff at the moment, but the Suns take advantage of a 50m penalty for Jack Petruccelle thumping the ball out after it was already called out on the full.
Will Graham kicks from the edge of 50, and the Academy pick drills it for his first AFL goal, putting Gold Coast back in front!
That was like a training drill gone wrong for Gold Coast!
They had the ball inside 50, but the Eagles were pressuring. The Suns kept handballing between each other and finally Mac Andrew was either tackled or called for a throw.
Tyler Brockman had the kick, but wasted it out on the full.
This is going end to end here!
The Eagles were on the attack, when the Suns managed to wrest possession away - they cleared down the far wing at Carrara, and Tom berry found a target.
Sam Day ran and went long to the square, but he missed the target and kicked it straight to an Eagles defender.
Bad miss that.
The Eagles answer straightaway, with Elliot Yeo spinning out of trouble to get the clearance, he goes clear and kicks straight to Jack Darling deep inside 50.
The Eagles forward slots it, and we have another lead change!
The ball was pinballing around, and it came out to Jake Rogers.
The Suns' Academy player kicked another dart for Ben King to mark above his head.
He went back and kicked his first, so the Suns are in front!
Rogers has been very good today - that's his second goal assist.
