Revealing the situation on Reddit, the woman’s boyfriend said that his partner simply ordered a “Sausage McMuffin” from a McDonald’s in Maylands in Perth’s eastern suburbs.

“She selected Option 1 because she didn’t want Eggs (she’s pregnant). All other ingredients were clearly listed: ‘Sausage McMuffin: English Muffin, Beef Sausage, etc’.”

However, the pair were left completely astonished when their breakfast order from the fast food giant arrived with a shocking note attached and an empty wrapper inside.

“Sausage egg has egg, muffins, sausage, cheese, its no for everything, so we have just given the wrapping,” the note read.

The boyfriend explained further that his partner actually ordered a “sausage McMuffin” and not a sausage and egg McMuffin “with no additions or removals”.

“Both the order history and the physical receipt show all ingredients as being removed, so I can’t prove that my girlfriend didn’t do this either intentionally or accidentally.

Internet sleuths who were keen to find out how such a debacle actually occurred were left scratching their heads, with some asking to see the receipt.

“I’m guessing the system just listed no next to all ingredients. Either I mistakenly did this when ordering or had a system issue. Show the receipt,” one person said.

“I feel like we need to see a screenshot of the order to be sure she didn’t tick no to everything,” another said.

“Looks like we have an up-and-coming comedian working at McDonalds,” added a third commenter.

He added that the couple hadn’t been able to recreate the issue and that the digital and physical copies of the receipt show all the ingredients as being removed.

“She also didn’t check the details in the cart when she placed the order,” he said.

“However, she vehemently denies even going into the customisation menu, and I very almost entirely believe her.

“It’s very unlikely that she went into the customisation menu and removed the ingredients one by one — but I can’t prove that she didn’t.”
