German club Borussia Dortmund are through to the UEFA Champions League final after defeating Paris Saint-Germain in Paris.

Dortmund's 1-0 victory at the Parc des Princes secured the two-leg semifinal after the German club also won their home fixture by the same score.

PSG dominated possession all evening but could not convert the many opportunities they had.

Dortmund's 35-year-old legend Mats Hummels was the man to secure the tie and send them into the final, with a goal in the 50th minute.

PSG camped themselves in Dortmund's half for the final 20 minutes of the second leg, peppering the German club's goal to no avail.

Vitinha's long-range strike in the 88th minute, which beat Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel but hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced away, typified PSG's night.

French superstar Kylian Mbappé, in what is likely his last European fixture for PSG, went close to scoring on several occasions on Wednesday morning AEST.

Mbappé's contract with PSG runs out at the end of the season, with many suspecting he will join Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Dortmund will face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, who play their second leg in Madrid on Thursday (AEST) with the aggregate score at 2-2.

This year's final will be held at Wembley Stadium in London, the site of Dortmund's last trip to the Champions League final when they lost to Bayern Munich in 2013.
