Real Madrid defeat Barcelona to win the Copa del Rey

The Spanish Basketball Cup, Copa del Rey, was not scene to any major surprises, unlike last year, as Real Madrid prevailed in the battle of EuroLeague giants with a score of 96-85 versus FC Barcelona.
Although the first half was quite competitive, with lead changes being commonplace, the EuroLeague leaders stepped on the gas in the middle of the third quarter and never looked back.
Argentinian guard Facundo Campazzo made a strong difference for Real Madrid, as he had 18 points, 1 rebounds, and 6 assists. His performance was helped by Vincent Poirier and Dzanan Musa, who had similar numbers.
On the other side of the aisle, Barcelona newcomer Jabari Parker had 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals but only a total of three players in the team could score in double digits.
Overall, this was the first time Real Madrid won the Copa del Rey since 2020 and they reinforced their status as the winningest team in this competition.
