Star halfback Adam Reynolds has been captured visibly upset in devastating scenes in the Broncos dressing room at half time after leaving the loss against the Storm with a hamstring injury.

While it was feared that Reynolds had suffered a serious knee injury, it was reported early in the second half by Fox League’s Lara Pitt that the halfback sustained what looks like a low grade hamstring sprain.

Reynolds appeared to knock knees with Storm five-eighth Cam Munster in the dying seconds of the first half. He then got up to put in an attacking kick with the final play of the half before limping off in frustration.

“You can see the devastation on his face. This is such a devastating blow,” Ennis said.

“Terrible scenes for Adam Reynolds, visibly upset in the sheds. The Broncos are only announcing it’s a knee concern and he that he won’t return to this game” Pitt initially reported as the teams were running back onto the field.

Reynolds missed a game earlier in the season with a MCL sprain.

“It was innocuous. There was no real collision with Cameron Munster. But the fact he grabbed the back of his leg,” Andrew Voss said in commentary.

We were told it was a medial issue last time when he missed games, but that didn’t look like he grabbed a media,” Greg Alexander added.

Voss then crossed to Pitt on the sideline, and she was able to give some encouraging news that the injury wasn’t as bad as first thought.

“Somewhat relieving news for Adam Reynolds and the Broncos. Initial fears was he had that knee on knee contact with Cam Munster.

“However once he got into the sheds and spoke with the Broncos doctors he revealed that he felt hamstring tightness. After further assessment they are hopeful it is a low grade strain to his hamstring.

“I guess a much better diagnosis than a very serious knee injury.”

Reynolds was asked for an update in the post-match presser.

“It (hamstring) just tightened up. It didn’t feel too good,” he said.

“We’ll get back to Brisbane, get a scan and go from there.

“I felt it early on in the game and it gradually got worse. I tried to get to half time to see where it was at.”

Asked by Pitt if he felt it was a serious injury, Reynolds played a straight bat.

“I don’t know. I’ll get scans back in Brisbane.”
