Starting this 2023/24 A-League season, Adelaide United fans can travel for free to Hindmarsh Stadium.
This initiative, a partnership between the State Government and Adelaide United, offers complimentary rides on all Adelaide Metro buses, trains, and trams. The only catch? Just show a valid match day ticket or a members pass.
To manage the post-match crowd, there will be extra tram services. Additionally, the Royal Adelaide Hospital tram route will now extend to the Entertainment Centre stop, making it easier for fans across Adelaide to reach the stadium.
In celebration of Adelaide United’s 20th anniversary, a special tram featuring club legends will run until mid-November.
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Tom Koutsantonis said “By making all public transport free for those headed to cheer on our beloved Reds at Hindmarsh, we are ensuring everyone has a safe and convenient ride to and from every Adelaide United home game.”
“Leave the keys at home and let Adelaide Metro do the driving – it’s a free, easy, and convenient trip to Hindmarsh.”
“In United’s 20th year, we are also excited to have a commemorative tram featuring club legends Isaias, Cassio, Eugene Galekovic, Travis Dodd and Isabel Hodgson in service until mid-November.”
Adelaide United Football Club CEO Nathan Kosmina said “On behalf of all Adelaide United members and fans, I want to thank the State Government and Minister Koutsantonis for this gesture of support in what is a year of great significance for our club.”
“Coopers Stadiumis undoubtedly the best football venue in the country and thankstothis initiative offeringfree travel across the Adelaide Metro network, match day will only become more accessible forfootballfans in South Australia.”
