A multimillionaire has successfully had his luxury car craned 57 storeys off the ground and into his lofty new $39 million penthouse apartment in Melbourne.
Last month, Adrian Portelli, 34, was revealed as the buyer of the penthouse, which set a record for Melbourne’s most expensive apartment.

The penthouse, which is still under construction, sits atop of the Sapphire by the Gardens tower on La Trobe St in the CBD.
Speaking to 7NEWS in April, Portelli revealed plans to use a crane to lift his $3 million McLaren Senna GTR into the apartment for it to be displayed in the living area.
“It’s a car that we can’t register, and it’s just collecting dust, so I might as well have it somewhere where it’s safe,” he said.

Watched on by a crowd of spectators, the luxury car was delicately hoisted up 57 floors.
The founder of subscription-only loyalty company LCMT+ took to social media following the successful mission.
“A huge thank you to everyone involved for making this absolutely surreal moment happen,” Portelli said.
“Forever grateful.”

He looked at a few penthouses during his property search, but admitted they didn’t have “that ‘wow’ factor”.
Portelli said he was “very proud and blessed” to be the owner of the most expensive apartment in Melbourne.
“I just grew up in the suburbs ... a humble kid ... and dreams do come true,” he said.

Inside the sky bridge will be the hotel bar with its centrepiece — a see-through floor with four layers of glass revealing a 100-metre drop.
Of the 325 apartments below the penthouse in Sapphire by the Gardens, 95 per cent have already been sold.
There are a handful of two and three-bedroom apartments that remain for sale in the tower, which start from $1.2 million.
