Richmond AFLW National Recruiting Manager Trent Mosbey's analysis on Scott...
Paige is a general forward, who can play both high and deep, as well as through the midfield.
Has kicked 12 goals and averaged 9.8 disposals, 3.6 tackles and 2.3 marks per game across 28 AFLW games for Essendon since being drafted with pick 8 in 2022.
Paige was a Rising Star nominee after their first senior game with 16 disposals, four marks and one goal in front of 12,000 against Hawthorn in Round 1 of Season 7 in 2022 at Marvel Stadium.
The former GWV Rebels product strengths are their contested marking, power, speed, agility, and has a great leap capable of taking speckys. Possessing strong footy IQ, Paige is capable of kicking important goals in big moments, as was evident against Richmond in 2023 with two critical goals in the Dreamtime game at Ikon Park.
As a junior, Paige was All Australian and led the goal kicking at the Under 18 championships in 2021 as a bottom-age player. They are no stranger to Punt Road having played for the AFLW Academy at the ground and kicking two goals against an Under 23 side in May 2022. In that year, Paige also kicked five goals in a dominant performance at VFLW level for Geelong against Darebin.
We see Paige slotting into our forward line, bringing elite defensive pressure in the front half and challenging the opposition in lots of ways inside forward 50, either in the air or at ground level, offensively and defensively. They are well regarded for being highly competitive, bringing impressive urgency, intensity and aggression at the contested ball.
