Fake heiress Anna Delvey is heading back to the spotlight, this time as a contestant on ABC’s hit competition show Dancing With The Stars.

The 33-year-old Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, was convicted of larceny, grand theft and financial crimes in 2019, sentenced to four to 12 years in prison in 2019, and then released in 2022.

In early 2022, she went about monetizing her infamy, hosting an art show while still in detention and adapting her life and cons into the Netflix miniseries Inventing Anna by Shonda Rhimes. By December 2022, Delvey had sold $340,000 worth of paintings and drawings. Since her release, Delvey has been held on house arrest, though that hasn’t stopped her from hosting lavish dinner parties at her East Village apartment, starting a podcast, and last September hosting a fashion show on her rooftop.

Add appearing on Dancing With The Stars to the list of things one can apparently do on house arrest.

A news release from ABC refers to Delvey by her fake name, rather than Sorokin, and calls her an “artist, fashion icon and infamous NYC socialite” and “notorious ankle bracelet fashionista.” Sure, whatever.

Here’s the full description: “ANNA DELVEY – Anna Delvey is an artist, fashion icon and infamous NYC socialite who gained international attention after Netflix purchased the rights to her story and developed it into the 2022 miniseries “Inventing Anna.” Delvey’s life story has been the subject of several other television shows, interviews, podcasts and theater productions. Some view her as a cunning scam artist, while others see her as a charismatic and ambitious entrepreneur who took advantage of New York City’s social elite in an effort to open a prestigious art studio. Her case has also sparked discussions about wealth, privilege and social climbing in modern society. Her story continues to captivate the public’s imagination.”
