ANZAC Day 2024: Mount Isa Events

Preparations are well underway for this year's ANZAC day and the RSL Mount Isa Sub Branch would like to inform the community of some important information in the lead up to April 25.

Sidecars 

RSL Mount Isa are looking for veterans or families of veterans (any campaign) to ride in sidecars in the ANZAC Day parade - Please contact Peter Roberts - Phone: 0421 511 083 / Email: [email protected]

Merchandise 

Badges etc are available to purchase prior to ANZAC Day from Ozzie Outdoors and Irish Club Reception.

We would like to thank the businesses, schools and individuals who help us fundraise.

Badge Sales Days  

Our volunteers will be next to the Kmart entrance on Saturday, April 13 and Saturday, April 20 from 8.30am to 2pm.

Large range of badges and gifts are available. One hundred percent of money raised stays local to support veterans and fund our commemorative activities as we are all volunteers and are all veterans ourselves.

ANZAC Day Services

Prior to 6am - Veterans meet downstairs at Civic Centre for a Gunfire Coffee donated by Apex6am - Dawn Service commences (Civic Gardens, Memorial Cenotaph, 23 West Street)7am - Gunfire breakfast kindly provided by APEX, free for Veterans, their dependents and helpers with the commemorative services.9:30am - ANZAC Parade - if you are marching please form up by 9am in vicinity of Isa Bridge10am - Morning Service commences at Memorial Cenotaph11am - Back to Irish Club who are offering a special buffet lunch available to the public. We would love for the public to come to the Irish Club and enjoy the afternoon with the local Veterans and volunteers.12mid - Two Up commences. One hundred percent of any funds raised by the house will be donated to Far North Queensland Legacy. The iconic Australian game of heads or tails only played once a year on ANZAC Day. Exclusively at the Irish Club from 12 midday - only licensed venue in town open from 11am.
