Apple Martin Has Officially Entered The Spotlight During Grand High ...

In today’s upper echelon, we usually expect the runway or set of a new A24 film to be where a celebrity’s child makes their society entrance. Yet, overnight in Paris, Apple Martin firmly took her place in the public’s eye at a grand ball in Paris highly regarded for its sartorial prowess, aristocratic attendees and old-school glamour: Le Bal des Débutantes. 

The daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin has firmly remained out of the spotlight for her entire life, with the Vanderbilt University alumni exclusively seen on Paltrow’s Instagram page or on the rare occasion she sat in the front row of Chanel’s Spring 2023 Haute Couture Show. 

Given the 20-year-old’s knack for privacy, the college student ensured her introduction would not be a quiet occurrence, especially as a third-generation ‘nepo baby’. Martin’s movie star and wellness guru mother might have a penchant for stealth wealth and minimalism, as seen during her infamous ski trail, but débutante herself took cues from the opulence of regency era styles in a stunning custom gown from Valentino.

This proved to be the perfect match given that the Maison’s creative director, Alessandro Michele is known for his romantic and maximalist fashion philosophy. Crafting something truly breathtaking, and honestly similar to Daphne Bridgerton’s iconic ‘diamond of the season’ dress, the Italian house made a sky-coloured gown in ciel bleu silk plissé. The piece featured six cascading tiers of scalloped hem chiffon and a statement black bow that gathered at Martin’s waist. 

This act of fanciful elegance was extended to her family, too, with the Goop founder wearing a long dress in point d’esprit tulle with white polka dots and all-over ruffles from the Pavillon Des Folies collection. Martin’s 18-year-old brother and cavalier (escort), Moses, wore a custom-made tuxedo, too.
