Ariana Grande talks cosmetic treatments in new Vogue video

US singer Ariana Grande made an emotional video for Vogue, saying she stopped getting cosmetic treatments in 2018. The “thank you, next” singer says she previously used cosmetic treatments like Botox and lip filler as “something to hide behind”.

Grande added that getting cosmetic work done was starting to feel “too much”, saying she wanted to enjoy her aging process and embrace her well-earned “cry lines and smile lines”.

What was meant to be a typical Vogue beauty secrets video took an emotional turn into talks about body image. Grande was supposed to share her “skin care routine & guide to a ‘60s cat eye”. She is known for doing a perfect, free hand cat eye.

While speaking, she is seen holding back tears, saying she didn’t expect to “get this emotional”. Grande, who recently released the 10th anniversary edition of her debut album, said “aging is such a beautiful thing” but she wouldn’t be against getting other procedures in the future.

Ariana discussed the evolution of her relationship with cosmetics since her rise to fame at 17 when she played Cat Valentine in Victorious. This passion for cosmetics led her to start her own makeup brand “R.E.M Beauty” in November of 2021. She revealed that she used to use makeup as a form of “disguise”.

Additionally, she has been an advocate against body shaming, addressing this issue earlier this year in a TikTok video.

In her video, she encouraged fans to refrain from making “well-intentioned” comments about people’s appearances, whether they are about their health, size, or sexiness. Instead, she emphasized the importance of offering compliments or simply choosing to ignore aspects one might not like.
