MCB Marks Armistice Day 2024 | Muslim Council of Britain
On Armistice Day, we commemorate all those who sacrificed their lives in war for the freedoms we hold today. Among them were people of many faiths, including the millions of Muslims who served with courage and dedication.
Reports show that 2.5 million Muslims served in WWI and 5.5 million in WWII, with nearly 1.5 million making the ultimate sacrifice.
This history should not be forgotten. Armistice Day marked a historic ceasefire, and today we reflect on the hope for peace and ceasefires in ongoing conflicts around the world.
We will join the two-minute silence at the 11th hour honour their enduring legacy. They are gone but not forgotten.
The Muslim Council of Britain launched a special publication to celebrate the enduring contribution of Muslims to the defence of this nation. The document also covers the current contribution of British Muslims to the UK military.
