Sydney FC are Australia Cup Champions in 2023, coming from behind to defeat Brisbane Roar 3-1 in an enthralling final at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night.
Brisbane took a first-half lead through 18-year-old Thomas Waddingham, but the Sky Blues came out of the blocks firing in the second half, with a penalty converted by new signing Fabio Gomes paving the way for Robert Mak to put the hosts ahead in the 72nd minute.
Gomes found a second late in the piece to seal the result for Steve Corica’s side.
It’s a second Australia Cup title for Sydney FC, as Brisbane lose the club’s first men’s final since 2014.
