Western Sydney Wanderers cruised to a 4-0 win over Lions FC at Luxury Paints Stadium.
The visitors took the lead midway through the half when Nicolas Milanovic streamed through the middle of the pitch and hit a low finish past Cardiff Pond in the Lions' goal.
Lions made a strong start to the second half, but Western Sydney added a second in the 54th minute.
Zachary Sapsford raced onto Oscar Priestman’s pass over the top and delicately clipped the ball over Pond to watch it bounce into the goal.
Western Sydney grabbed their third goal 77 minutes in, as Jack Clisby picked out Marcus Antonsson with a left-sided cross, who poked home from close range.
The side added a fourth just seven minutes later through Marcus Younis, who got in behind the Lions' defense, shifting the ball onto his left foot and executing a smart finish.
Younis’ goal was the final major action for the game as Western Sydney made it through to the Quarter-Finals.
Hume City FC - 1 (Aamir Abdallah 55’) FC Melbourne Srbija - 0
A freak goal directly from a corner proved the difference for Hume City as they downed FC Melbourne Srbija 1-0 in a very windy evening in the Victorian capital.
In a game of limited shots, chances were hard to come by despite the hosts dominating the ball in the first half.
City made the most of their possession 10 minutes after halftime. Aamir Abdallah continued his outstanding Cup form, scoring a stunning Olympico, using the breeze to finish directly from an in-swinging corner off his lethal left foot.
The hosts carried on this momentum and pursued further goals, but in the end, they only needed one goal to advance to the next round.
Olympic Kingsway FC - 2 (Liam Boland 38’ 85’) Adelaide United FC - 3 (Austin Ayoubi 11’, Callum O’Connell OG 48’, Luka Jovanovic 71’)
In Tuesday's late kick-off, Adelaide United prevailed 3-2 against Olympic Kingsway at Kingsway Reserve.
Adelaide took only 11 minutes to make an impression withAustin Ayoubi profiting at the far post, bundling home the opener after a scramble in the box.
The hosts fought back and restored parity seven minutes after halftime. Joseph Knowles sent in a left-footed cross for Liam Boland; the forward nodding a backward header that looped over James Delianov and into the goal.
The goal made Boland the joint all-time leading scorer in the Australia Cup, level with Besart Berisha.
Boland’s ensured the scores were even as the teams went into the sheds.
Just three minutes into the second half, Adelaide retook the lead. Kingway’s Callum O’Connell nodded the ball in for an own goal.
After this, the home side put the Reds under significant pressure, but United found their third goal 71 minutes in.
Zach Clough whipped in a right-sided cross that Luka Jovanovic steered home with his head.
Kingsway made it a tense finish to the match when Boland slotted the ball into the left of the goal from the penalty spot with five minutes to play.
The goal was Liam Boland's 13th in the Australia Cup, which now makes him the most prolific finisher in the modern tournament's history.
Despite the achievement, Adelaide survived the nervy final few minutes to secure their spot in the next round of the Cup.
