Live updates: Australia vs England3rd over - Mitch Starc continues

Jos Buttler has been told to take a sticker off his bat - not sure what that is about...

Lovely wide yorker from Starc, Buttler had a swing but he was well of it to be honest.

2nd over - Josh Hazlewood at the other end

England's second over went for 22. I'm not sure Hazelwood will be so charitable.

A single to Salt off the first down to backward point.

Oh my - that ball keeps incredibly low and Buttler plays over the top of it. Goodness me. Not much you can do with that.

FOUR! Buttler hammers the ball backward of point and the aggression is rewarded. He wasn't far from the fielder at point to be fair. But he might be thinking that if there is that variable bounce, he may as well have a swing.

Buttler gets a couple now out to mid on.

FOUR! Just beats midwicket and gets another boundary for his troubles as well.

Australia dealt in sixes early - but boundaries will do for now for England's chase as Australia changes its field.

A single to long on ends the over.

England 0-18.

1st over - Mitch Starc to open the bowling

Phil Salt actually grew up in Bridgetown - so another Englishman on his home ground.

FOUR! Lovely ball first up from Starc, inswinging yorker that Salt gets an inside edge to and sends it away for a boundary to square leg. Both men laugh. Ruefully.

Wider, Salt gets an edge to it on the full and it bounces towards the keeper.

Single to Salt this time, clipping to square leg.

BEATEN! Lovely ball from Starc, Buttler fending out towards the ball uncomfortably.

Buttler plays the ball back to Starc, who fields.

Down the leg side, a wide for that one, but it was tight. Brilliant stop from grumpy Matthew Wade, who has calmed down a bit after his little tantrum earlier on.

Buttler defends the last.

England 0-6.

Everything that Australia did well, England need to do in this opening six overs if they are to be any chance in this match.

Pretty much everything went wrong from the second over onwards for England.

I don't think this is a 200 pitch - but Australia batted so well.

I'd love a cuppa

Good to see I'm not the only one who rises early. Good morning Simon. Who's your money on ? Who's up for a brew ? I've got the kettle on.

- Old timer

Thanks Old timer, I'd love one

I think Australia should not lose this from here.

202 is simply too much to get given the quality of Australia's bowling attack.

The Aussie seamers will use their guile and accuracy, while the spinners will make the most of the turn on offer.

"We think it's a very competitive total," says David Warner on the TV coverage.

He's not wrong.

It is a very good total.

There was a reason that no country has got more than 200 in this tournament so far - the pitches are not conducive to high scoring.

However, Australia made a mockery of that, scoring 2-74 in the power play to dominate England.

England will need the third-highest successful run chase in the history of T20 World Cup cricket to win this match.

20th over - Last ball

Mitch Starc is the new man in.

Wade gets a single off the last ball - or does he?

There is an appeal for a run out at the non-strikers end...

No, he's safe.

Although for some reason, the third umpire is looking at it a lot...

Oh, that's because Wade tried for another run, went out his ground and Jordan lifted the stump - but Wade got his foot back in.

Key Event

OUT! HORRIBLE RUN OUT!

Cummins misses the ball, Wade went for the run on the bye - Cummins didn't want a bar of it until way too late and is run out without scoring for 1.

Yucky.

Australia 7-200

20th over - Cummins is the new man

Key Event

Stoinis is out!

Finally a mistimed shot is punished with a wicket!

Stoinis hits the splice of the bat, the ball balloons up to the deep where Harry Brook takes the catch.

Australia 6-200

It's Chris Jordan's 100th T20I wicket too.

20th over - Chris Jordan to bowl the last

ENGLAND PENALISED!

England has to have an extra fielder inside the ring as punishment for their slow over rate.

FOUR! Harry Brook tries to get there at long on, but Stoinis's mistimed shot just gets there ahead of him and a one-bounce four.

Stoinis goes to the leg side, Jordan follows him and it's a single out to deep midwicket.

Wide. Not great from Jordan.

Wade slaps the ball to midwicket.

THat's the 200 up, off 117 balls.

That's the first score passed 200 in this tournament - in the 17th match.

19th over - Jofra Archer comes back

EDGED! FOUR! Genuine edge, Matthew Wade looked to turn that to the leg side, gets the edge and away for four. Tough on Archer that.

Wade gets this one away on the leg side - only a single. A leg bye instead.

Outside off, Stoinis tries to lever it into the off side and there is no run.

CHANCE! Stoinis hammers the ball to cover, Harry Brook dives, realises he wont get there and then does really well to stop the ball bouncing over him. Brilliant fielding.

TOP EDGE! They get a couple as the ball flies up into the air.

BOUNCER! IS HE OUT?! Wade is given, eventually, but he reviews instantly. Wade is looking like a very angry man out there - and it's because he is not out. It hit his arm, not his glove.

Australia are 5-193

18th over - Adil Rashid to bowl his last over

Stoinis gets the reverse sweep out, Jonny Bairstow does well to save a boundary, it's just a single.

FOUR! Lovely shot from Wade, just beating the infield with a drive through the covers. Lovely shot.

Wade is distracted by something - the music maybe? It's not a dead ball, Wade is upset. But it can't be? Wade defended the ball - it's on him that he wasn't ready, surely? A short discussion between umpire and player but we continue.

(Getty Images)

Wade is not happy, gets a single and chews the ear off umpire Menon.

FOUR! A reverse sweep gets through again - Rashid is ropeable! But it is a boundary, getting through the fielders there for that shot. Archer and Bairstow both got that wrong.

Australia 5-185,

17th over - Matthew Wade is the new man in

Wide first up from Jordan.

FOUR! Lovely shot from Wade, a punch to the wide of long off and he gets the boundary. Lovely.

Australia 5-173.

Key Event

TIM DAVID FALLS NOW!

Tim David leans back and tries to hammer the ball over point, but he can't hit the ball hard enough into the breeze and long enough for the long boundary.

It's a valuable wicket for England.

Good catch from Liam Livingstone.

David falls for 11 off 8 balls.

Australia 5-168.

17th over - Chris Jordan comes in

SIX MORE! CALL THE LIFEGUARD! That one is into the swimming pool almost! Supreme power from Tim David.

DROPPED! David hammers the ball back to Chris Jordan on his follow though - and the English bowler drops it. He is a brilliant catcher on the follow through - one at the Gabba many a year ago sticks in the memory - but that one did not stay in there.

Past Jordan along the ground this time, just a single to long off.

Just edged past the keep to a deep slip in Mark Wood, who takes it on the bounce.

16th over - Livingstone continues

Off the outside edge of David's bat, just a single.

That's the 150 up for Australia, off 91 balls.

Stoinis gets a single.

David hammers the ball back to Livingstone, who contorts himself to get his boot out and save a boundary but not a run.

There is an appeal for something as Australia scampers through for another single.

David opens the shoulders and hammers the ball down the ground for a single.

SIX! Down the ground from big Stoinis! Massive.

Australia 4-160.

15th over - Adil Rashid continues with four balls to come

Leg slip and orthodox slip for Tim David, who leans back and gets a single to point.

Wide from Rashid.

BEATEN! What a wonderful leg break from Rashid - Stonis did not have a scooby about that one out the hand.

Stoinis pushes into the off side for no run.

SIX! It's a top edge, but down to the short boundary that's all it needs. Not a great shot, but Stoinis gets away with the miscue and it's another boundary for Australia.

Australia 4-149 at the end of the 15th.

Key Event

OUT! MAXWELL GOES!
(Getty Images)

That's not a great shot from Maxwell.

He was back in his crease, leaning back, looking to muscle the ball over the man two thirds of the way back to the wide mid on boundary Phil Salt, and he picks him out.

Maxwell goes for 28 off 25 balls and England has just a little opening.

Australia 4-141.
