Live updates: New Zealand vs Australia, day two113th over - Will O'Rourke back into the attack

Short spell for Southee. O'Rourke is around the wicket to Hazlewood.

Rock solid defence from Josh Hazlewood.

Yep, it's another maiden. Wish I had more to report, but we're kinda just filling time right now. Lunch still 20 minutes (or a wicket, lol) away.

Green bunts one into the vast open spaces on the leg side, but turns down the run.

Now he does the same thing down to long off, and again turns down the single.

It's a maiden in the end.

111th over - Southee to Hazlewood

So lunch would ordinarily be scheduled for after this over, but I imagine we will keep playing for up to another 30 minutes or until the last wicket is taken.

FOUR RUNS! Josh Hazlewood is feeling himself now! He rocks back and cracks a cut shot through the point gap for four.

Number 11 Josh Hazlewood has just played out an over from New Zealand's captain and leading bowler Tim Southee with a remarkable lack of fuss.

And as expected, this session will continue.

110th over - Matt Henry back into the attack

Despite it all, Henry still deserves five wickets for his efforts in this innings. Here he will have another chance, with a few minutes before the scheduled lunch break.

There's some conjecture as to whether the extra half hour would be available to New Zealand, given Australia is nine wickets down with lunch only five minutes away. Given all we've seen this morning, it's hard to argue that 10th wicket is imminent but rules are rules.

Green edges one short of the diving gully.

Five balls played for no run, can Green force a single from the sixth?

No he can not, a swing and a miss outside the off stump. Over bowled.

The pesky tail

Persistently bowling short to a tenth wicket partnership that's taking the game away from the - are we sure Australia are batting and not bowling?

- Claire

It's an absolute epidemic at this point. Nobody in world cricket knows how to bowl to tailenders anymore.

109th over - Southee to steam in again

Steaming in might be an exaggeration with Tim Southee, but he's going to bowl this over. Green on strike.

Cameron Green leaves the first four balls of the over alone. Perhaps he has lunch and a bit of red ink on his mind.

Nicely driven to deep point by Green, and he'll take the single from the penultimate ball.

Hazlewood blocks it, and another over is chalked off.

108th over - Kuggeleijn continues

He's now coming around the wicket to Green, just for something to do.

This is... not great. New Zealand is entirely out of ideas, not only for Cam Green but for Josh Hazlewood too. The Black Caps now seem to just be waiting for a declaration, or a mistimed slog to the outfield.

Green punches to deep point and takes the single. I also missed last over that this 10th wicket partnership has gone past 100.

That'll be another wide, absolute trash from Kuggeleijn miles over the head of 6ft 4 Josh Hazlewood.

The final ball is safely defended by Hazlewood and we will do it all again.

107th over - Here comes Southee

EDGED! Short of the cordon! Soft hands from Hazlewood and he survives again.

And then he finds the single. Good result all round.

Crunching cover drive from Green, but well fielding inside the ring. He'll take the single and leave Hazlewood one more ball to face.

BEATEN! Great ball from Southee, too good for the number 11.

But still, the wait for the 10th wicket continues.

106th over - Kuggeleijn continues

Shirt untucked, only adding to the third grade vibes this morning has given off.

Green smacks one out to deep midwicket but opts not to run.

SIX MORE! Don't bowl there. Right in the slot for Green, who rocks back and powers another massive pull shot up and over square leg for six.

It means Hazlewood will have the strike for the next over.

105th over - Tim Southee brings himself back on

The skipper is still wicketless, and is coming around the wicket to Hazlewood.

There's the single they were looking for. Hazlewood tickles one to fine leg and gets himself off strike.

FOUR MORE! Loose down the leg side from Southee and clipped to the fine leg rope by Green.

Green ends the over with a confident drive through the covers, and is happy enough to take a single and keep the strike.

It's all very easy for these Aussies right now.

104th over - Scott Kuggeleijn into the attack

And Green takes a single from the first ball, almost accidentally. Not sure that was in the playbook, Hazlewood now has five to face.

FIVE WIDES! My goodness, that is appalling. Maybe the worst bouncer of a bad bunch that we've seen in this innings. Miles over the keeper's head, and not at any great pace either. Extras are up to 39.

Hazlewood swings hard at a fuller ball and belts it down the ground. It comes up just short of the rope, so they'll settle for a single.

FOUR MORE! Brilliant pull shot from Green, who turned his hands over on that perfectly to make sure he found the gap behind square leg. He's doing as he pleases out there.

Green ducks underneath the last and brings the over to an end. This partnership is now at 89, which is quite something.

A bit upset?

Hi Dean, do you think NZ would be a bit upset with how things have so far played out this morning?

- H.B.W.

I think Black Caps fans will be livid with this showing this morning. The tactics and execution have been very poor, and the match may now have already slipped away from them.

103rd over - Ravindra continues

Hazlewood on strike and defending.

And still defending. Hoff is in this for the long haul, and Ravindra does not have anything that is going to trouble him at the moment.

He blocks out a maiden. There we go.

102nd over - O'Rourke is carrying on

Green on strike, pulling hard to the man at deep square leg and refusing the easy single.

BEATEN! For as well as Green has batted this innings, that outside edge has been passed quite a few times too. There is always a chance for the bowlers in these conditions if they put it in the right spot.

Green wanted the single from the penultimate ball, but Hazlewood sent him back. Now the field comes up.

SIX! 150 FOR CAM GREEN! How on earth has he done that? He's picked that up from seemingly above his head as he fell to the leg side, and has hoiked it up and over cow corner for yet another six. Remarkable shot.

And that is 150 for Cameron Green, an innings that really should mark a turning point in the Test career of one of the most talented cricketers this country has produced in some time.

101st over - Ravindra is going to have another go

Green finds the space out into the vacant leg side, and opts against the single.

Now Ravindra sends one down incredibly wide of the off stump. Fair to say New Zealand has packed in any thoughts of taking wickets for the moment.

Green eventually takes the single, leaving one ball for Hazlewood to survive.

And without breaking a sweat, he defends it to the leg side.

Over bowled, one from it.

100th over - O'Rourke will continue

Hazlewood on strike and defending the first ball away.

O'Rourke sends down a wild short ball down the leg side that Blundell can't contain, so Hazlewood gets off strike with a bye. A let off.

Green takes another single from the penultimate ball of the over, so Hazlewood just has one more to survive.

And survive he does. Over bowled.

99th over - Rachin Ravindra to bowl some spin

Not a lot of hustle from the Black Caps in getting out of that drinks break. I think they are as surprised to still be out there as anyone. They've bowled pretty badly this morning though, and there's every chance the game has slipped away from them in the last hour of yesterday and first hour of today.

Anyway, here's some spin. Ravindra to Green with the field almost entirely spread.

FOUR MORE! Green was watchful for the first few, but then when Ravindra dropped one short he was quick to put it away. A powerful pull shot through midwicket for four.

The field very slowly comes up for the last ball of the over, and Green is unable to pick a gap for a single. So Hazlewood will take the strike to begin the next over.

98th over - Henry continues
(Getty Images)

Hazlewood is on strike after that maiden last over, and he drives to mid off but there's no run - it's a very nice looking drive though.

He defends the next.

He is made to defend the next as well - not too many times today has Hazlewood been made to play two balls in a row, which is a damning indictment of how the bowling has been today.

Leading edge there from Hazlewood falls safe as he tries to turn the ball to the leg side.

Hazlewood clips off his pads to midwicket for no run.

Solid defence from Hazlewood ends the over.

That's drinks, so Dean Bilton will be back in the chair with Australia still batting - who'd have thunk that this morning?

Has the pitch settled down?

Hello Simon, is this impressive 10th wicket partnership an indication the pitch has settled down?

- Mike

It has been a bit lively still, but mostly due to the fact it's a new ball they have in use I think.

I was thinking perhaps the roller at the start of play has settled everything down because it's not been too bad today compared to late yesterday in that final session.

But in truth, the bowling has been pretty trash and the plans all over the place.
