In some unwelcome news for motorists, and those heading off overseas for Christmas, the Australian dollar has tumbled to a two-year low against the greenback.
The local currency dived when the US Federal Reserve -- the equivalent of the Reserve Bank -- said it wouldn't provide as much stimulus for the American economy as hoped.
It saw a big increase in demand for the US dollar and a sell-off in the Australian dollar.
