Before Bhad Bhabie launched a reality TV and rap career, she was best known as the “Cash Me Outside” girl.
In 2016, Bhabie (real name Danielle Bregoli) appeared in a segment for Dr. Phil that was titled “I Want to Give Up My Car-Stealing, Knife-Wielding, Twerking 13-Year-Old Daughter Who Tried to Frame Me for a Crime.”
Bhabie created her own catchphrase on the show, when, angered by the audience’s laughter at her, she uttered, “Cash me outside, how ‘bout dat.” (It was explained that it meant she was asking for a fight.)
After Bhabie’s comment became a meme and went viral on the internet, she became known as the “Cash Me Outside girl” and launched her own music career. Several of her rap songs have been certified gold and platinum.

“I’ve always loved music. When I first started, I didn’t really have the confidence and didn’t think I could actually do it,” Bhabie told Basic magazine in 2023. “I was working with a lot of cowriters, but now, I do most of the writing by myself. I’ve definitely evolved. I’ve always loved music and rapping, so making it a profession came naturally to me.”
The next year, Bhabie gave birth to her first baby, daughter Kali, with partner Le Vaughn.

2016Bhabie’s mother had asked Dr. Phil McGraw to help her daughter since she was struggling to raise her.
“Catch me outside, that’s what I always do and they never catch me,” she exclaimed, pronouncing “catch” like “cash.” Bhabie added, “‘Ain’t nobody gonna catch me.”
After Bhabie let out her now-signature catchphrase, the TV doctor asked if it was because she was “too streetwise.” Bhabie concurred.
