Billie Eilish fans were not prepared for the singer's latest career move.

On March 16, Eilish teased her surprise acting debut in Donald Glover's new Amazon Prime series, Swarm, which examines the dangers of stan culture. The series follows Dominique Fishback as her character Dre's obsession with the pop star Ni'Jah (Nirine S. Brown) takes a “dark turn.” The series also stars singer Chlöe Bailey and features appearances by Paris Jackson, Rory Culkin, and Kiersey Clemons.

“Did you hurt someone?” Eilish's character, Eva (loosely inspired by members of the infamous NXIVM cult) asks Dre in one deliciously creepy clip. When Dre admits that she has, Eva replies, “Very good.”

Billie Eilish doesn't pop up in Swarm until episode four, but all seven episodes are already available to stream. “Billie sounds like she could play a serial killer in the best way possible,” one user replied to the clip, while another commented, “I smelll Emmy?????” Over on Twitter the positive reviews—and fan edits—are already flooding in.

Swarm cocreator and showrunner Janine Nabers told Rolling Stone that Eilish was tapped for the role by casting director Carmen Cuba despite the singer's lack of scripted experience. “We were looking to cast the episode and she suggested Billie, and I said, ‘Does she act?’ And she said, ‘Yeah.’ And I said, ‘What has she been in?’ And she said, ‘Nothing,’” Nabers said. “But what’s so incredible about this process is that you have a lot of people that work on the show that are multihyphenate and people who have so many different passions. We gravitate toward people who are juggling multiple hats.”

Eilish isn't the only one making a career debut in Swarm. Malia Obama also earned her first official TV writer credit on the series with episode five, “Girl, Bye,” which “is probably one of the wildest episodes,” Nabers told Entertainment Tonight. “I think it's going to surprise a lot of people. It's pretty dope.”

Looks like I'm canceling all my weekend plans. Who doesn't love a good binge?
