BBC, Disney announce Bluey feature film to premiere in 2027
A feature film based off the hit Australian television show Bluey will premiere in cinemas in 2027, BBC Studios and the Walt Disney Company have announced.
According to the companies, the CGI-animated film will "continue the adventures of Bluey, a lovable, inexhaustible, blue heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo."
Series creator Joe Brumm will write and direct the film, with the voice actors of the series returning.
"I've always thought Bluey deserved a theatrical movie," Mr Brumm said in a statement.
"I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together."
After its run in movie theatres, the film will be available to stream on ABC iview.

Isn't there already a Bluey movie? No, but one episode did feature a longer format.
While every other episode has been seven minutes long, The Sign boasted a 28-minute run time.
It saw the Heller family nearly sell their iconic Queenslander-style home and move interstate.
The episode ends with Bandit, Bluey's father, pulling the 'for sale' sign from the house's lawn after a change of heart.
Is Bluey getting a season four? The program, which has aired three seasons, is slated to return after a hiatus.
Its most recent two episodes, The Sign and Surprise, did cause fans to wonder whether it was coming to an end, thanks to their emotional tones.
But producer Sam Moor told the BBC in April, "it is not the end for Bluey".
"I'm sure we have many more surprises in store for you," he said.
"We have more in store, and we are thinking what would be next."
While it's not yet confirmed who of the show's cast will return, the show's executive producer, Daley Pearson, suggested in April that there were no plans to replace its younger voice actors.
"Kids grow up, we can't stop it," he told the ABC.
"We're good for now and we'll hang on to our voices as long as we can and as much as we can."
Taking a step backMr Brumm also used his statement to announce he would be stepping away from the television series' production team.
"I always said I wouldn't keep making the show if I thought I couldn't make any new season as good as the last," he said.
"This would have been the case for me with a potential season four, so I've decided to take a break from my involvement in the TV series.
"In the event I can't wrap my head around doing more seasons myself, The Sign will mark my TV finale for Bluey and I wrote it as such."

He said his focus going forward will be on the film.
"Bluey has completely changed my life.
"It's been an immensely satisfying thing to be a part of, more than I can really put into words. To walk away from it while it's at such a height will seem crazy to some but, for now, I am finding it difficult to reach back genuinely into that four-to-six-year-old world and write authentically."
Since the series' premiere on ABC TV in 2018, Bluey has grown into a worldwide sensation and was the most-watched series globally on Disney+ in 2024.
It was created by Ludo Studio, based in Brisbane, and many of the show's settings bear a striking resemblance to the Queensland capital.
