The Brisbane Heat will gear up for a bumper KFC Big Bash League clash with the Adelaide Strikers at the Gabba tomorrow night with a revitalised line-up including the return of a fan favourite.

The Heat announced a 14-man squad tonight, with last season’s championship winning captain Nathan McSweeney coming into the group after he was omitted from the Australian Test squad for the Boxing Day Test.

NZ batter Colin Munro were also named in the squad after missing the Heat’s opening win over the Melbourne Stars on Wednesday wth hamstring tightness. He trained tonight and will be checked again tomorrow.

The Heat has also added an International replacement player for Tom Alsop (quad) and another Local Replacement Player to its overall player squad.

Teenage Queensland Bulls paceman Tom Straker has been added to the Heat squad as a Local Replacement Player.

Under the BBL rules, he must be included in the 12 for tomorrow night’s match, and would make his BBL debut if named in the starting 11 at the bat flip.

Dynamic English batter Tom Banton, who set the BBL alight when he played with the Heat in 2019-20, has signed on as Alsop’s replacement until 6 January.

Banton, who will play in the SAT20 competition for MI Cape Town in January, arrives tonight and has been included in the Heat’s squad for tomorrow night.

Banton will also be assessed tomorrow following his flight from the UK.

He has recently played in the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament where a highlight was a pair of half centuries including a 26-ball run 73 and 50 not out from 22 balls.

The Heat's documentary will also feature tomorrow.

*REIGNITE | A Brisbane Heat Story* will be broadcast nationally on Channel 7 from 1pm local time and 3pm in Perth.

It is also streaming on 7Plus & Brisbane Heat YouTube.
