Wests Tigers led the match 14-6 at half-time, before the home side scored two second-half tries to secure their fourth win of the season.

Wests Tigers posted the first points of the afternoon through an Aidan Sezer penalty goal and they grabbed the first try shortly after, when Charlie Staines backed up Brent Naden’s slashing line-break.

Jahream Bula’s pass sent Naden flying down the right touchline and the Forbes Ferrari displayed his well-renowned pace to finish the move off.

Kurt Mann collected the Bulldogs’ first score after 22 minutes, but Wests Tigers hit back when Jake Simpkin’s short ball put Fonua Pole over the line to extend their lead, which remained 14-6 at half-time.

Canterbury scored shortly after the break when Josh Curran chased a Drew Hutchison grubber to plant the ball down, and two subsequent Matt Burton penalty goals gave the Bulldogs the lead for the first time in the match.

A Burton linebreak led to Bronson Xerri grabbing the Bulldogs’ third four-pointer and the five-eighth’s conversion made it 22-14 after 57 minutes.

There was no scoring for the remainder of the contest, with David Klemmer and Alex Seyfarth being sin-binned with six minutes to go after a late scuffle.

Next up for Benji Marshall's team is a home game next Saturday against the Knights in Tamworth.
