Brisbane lockdown UPDATES LIVE: NSW calls for Byron Bay COVID testing

NSW calls for COVID-19 testing in Byron Bay; Queensland records 10 new COVID-19 cases, including six community transmitted cases; Brisbane to go into snap three-day lockdown. Follow the latest here.

Question: If I were to have staff members flying from Brisbane to regional Queensland today for essential work, before 5pm, what would their responsibilities be if they were to stay there for a couple of days?

And, would they be able to fly home tomorrow?

Answer: We’re still waiting on some specific information from the Queensland government about travel, however, the new rules apply to anyone who has been in greater Brisbane since Saturday, March 20.

Here’s the advice from Queensland’s Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young:

“I would hope, and I’m sure, that this will not occur, that people don’t choose to leave Brisbane during this time. It’s important that people go home.

“Anyone who has been in that greater Brisbane area since Saturday, March 20 is now required to follow those same requirements, that is to stay wherever they are except for those four reasons.”

The four key reasons stated above include grocery shopping, exercise, work and care for others.
