CFS crews were called to a structure fire at a rural property in Hope Forest, approximately 50 km south of Adelaide this afternoon.

Nine CFS trucks and three command cars with approximately thirty-five firefighters arrived to find the house fully involved with fire, with flames spreading through grass away from the house. Firefighters worked concertedly to extinguish the house and the grass fire, saving the neighboring shed and preventing any further spread of fire from the property. Losses are estimated at $150,000.

The property occupant had vacated to house prior to CFS arrival, was assessed by SA Ambulance on scene and has since been transported to hospital for assessment.

SA Police and SA Ambulance are supporting crews on scene, who will likely remain for some time to mop up the area. Fire Investigators have been notified, with no cause yet determined.
