Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan Have Two Wildly Different Takes ...
Olivia Rodrigo reunited with friend and former tour opener Chappell Roan last night at the premiere of Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour, the documentary covering the worldwide tour of her 2023 album.
As the duo stepped out onto the purple carpet, they each showcased their differing approaches to sheer dresses. Rodrigo, for her part, opted for a slinky black vintage gown from Dior’s fall/winter 1998 collection. Designed by John Galliano, the body-hugging dress flaunted a plunging neckline as well as an intricate cross-stitch pattern accented by roses.

Rodrigo complemented her look with a natural glam, and wore her dark hair in bouncy curls. She let her ensemble do the talking and went without accessories, save for a pair of dangling diamond earrings.

Meanwhile, Roan turned up the heat in a sheer red dress covered in burgundy floral appliqués. Two thigh-high slits in the skirt brought the daring dress to another level, and revealed a pair of pointy black leather boots. Elsewhere, the botanical details of her gown extended to a pair of matching, translucent opera gloves, which the singer accented with a smattering of silver rings.

To complement the look, Roan let her orange curls cascade down her shoulders. She also wore her signature colorful glam, pairing a dusty blue eyeshadow with hot pink blush and a burgundy lipstick. More theatrics followed as the singer spotted a photographer on the carpet and demanded an apology from him for past behavior.
She accused the photographer of “being disrespectful to me at the Grammys,” and claimed they had “yelled” at her during a Grammy party, as heard in a video circulating on X (formerly Twitter). Eventually, Roan was pulled away by a carpet guide—but not without leaving her impression.
