'Brat autumn' is in full force for dance music supernova Charli xcx, who is bringing her brash brand of bad-girl pop to an unexpected location on Thursday (10 October): Storm King Art Center, the beloved Hudson Valley sculpture park.

On 8 October, the Sweat Tour star asked her 6.4 million Instagram followers, ““nyyyyyyy I want to play my new album : ) shall we go upstate?” in a post that included a link to web registration (since taken down) for a 3pm DJ set at the outdoor art venue. The event celebrates the 11 October release of her two-disc remix album, Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, which will expand and revamp the songs on her album Brat, which made her a worldwide sensation all summer. The remixes include appearances by Julian Casablancas, Ariana Grande and Bon Iver, among others.

In typical Charli xcx fashion, details of the Storm King event are somewhat mysterious. It is not known, for instance, where exactly in the idyllic 500-acre outdoor museum—which boasts colossal sculptures and installations by Mark di Suvero, Maya Lin, Alice Aycock, Alexander Calder, Lynda Benglis, Andy Goldsworthy and many more—she will set up her DJ booth.

This will not be Charli xcx’s only art event this autumn. The 365 party girl will be headlining the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s annual Art+Film Gala, a fundraiser honoring Australian film-maker Baz Luhrmann and the artist Simone Leigh.

If you managed to snag a space at the Storm King set and need to take a break from the beats, check out the weird, unruly sculptures by Arlene Shechet that are currently installed on Storm King’s grounds.
