What a duo!

Christina Aguilera is celebrating 25 years of the album that shot her to superstardom.

In a collaboration with Spotify, the singer reflected on the 25th anniversary of her self-titled debut album with a live rendition of some of its most famous tracks, a live band, and backup singers.

The part of the session everyone’s talking about though is Christina inviting woman-of-the-hour, Sabrina Carpenter, along to sing a re-imagined version of her hit What A Girl Wants.

The two songstresses sit on a sofa while beautifully duetting the 1999 hit, accompanied by a live band and back-up singers.

It was a big moment for Sabrina Carpenter who revealed that she idolised Christina Aguilera growing up.

“I think the first time I ever heard your voice was my mom played me a video of you singing at eight years old, A Sunday Kind of Love,” Sabrina told Christina, referring to 10 year old Christina’s unexpectedly powerful performance in Star Search.

“That was the most inspiring thing for me ever to see as a young girl that wanted to sing but just didn’t think I could do it at that age.”

The 25-year celebration of Christina’s debut album serves as a way to bring “together the past and present” according to the singer in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

In addition to inviting Sabrina Carpenter along to perform What A Girl Wants, she also brought Machine Gun Kelly in to perform the hit Genie in a Bottle, adding a soulful guitar alongside the live band.
