Cody Simpson makes yet another impressive career pivot
From singer to swimmer, actor, musician and author, it seems there is nothing Cody Simpson can't do.
And if his skillset wasn't already impressive enough, the 27-year-old has now added musical theatre to his repertoire.
Hot off his efforts with the Australian Swimming Team and the release of his children's book, The Sea In Me, Cody will next star in Opera Australia's new production of Guys and Dolls.

"It's amazing, I love a challenge and to have jumped so quickly back into something like this, which was always my aim post swimming, I'm so thrilled that it's happened the way it has and that I can do this amazing production with such an amazing cast," Cody told Today.
Cody said he started reading scripts and auditioning for parts the day after he announced his retirement from swimming.
But what many don't realise is this isn't actually his first time in a theatre production.
"It really cemented my passion for musical theatre when I was able to play in Anastasia on Broadway," he revealed.
"We closed that in 2019 and then COVID-19 shut the industry down, shut the world down for a while and then I went and pursued my swimming career and always knew I'd want to pick back up once I was finished."

Of course, while Nine entertainment editor, Richard Wilkins, hosted the interview with Cody and his co-star, Annie Aitken, Cody's mate Karl wasn't going to let him sneak off without a big hug.
"I knew that was coming," Cody laughed as Karlos embraced him.
Guys and Dolls will be playing in Sydney in March and April and tickets are available now.
