Perth Coldplay concert pre-sale fail: Frozen screens and frantic queues leave fans frustrated
Coldplay pre-sale tickets were on sale for just a few moments, with fans left frustrated as they missed out completely or the website crashed while they were waiting in the queue.
Perth fans wished death upon ticketing companies as fans from as far away as Bali snapped up their tickets instead.
Joining the queue just before 10am and starting at 6000 in line, one fan got as close as 133 before being pushed through to a frozen screen.
“I went from 6333 in the queue to 133 but when I eventually got in, Ticketmaster glitched and reverted back to the homepage. After refreshing the website, it placed me back to 125524 in the queue,” the disappointed fan said.
“At no point was I given the opportunity to enter my presale code.”

“On my second attempt when I was roughly 121,000 in the queue, it glitched yet again and I lost my spot. What’s the point of even having a queue?” the deflated fan said, eventually calling it quits.
Seems she wasn’t the only one.

Others gave up hope and accepted defeat almost immediately:
“When 10am hit I had over 83,000 people ahead of me — I pretty much gave up there.”
One fan found humour among all the chaos, commenting on the Facebook event.

“Only 50k people in the queue ahead of me ahahha,” they said.
“You’re not doing badly,” one replied.
“My friend was in the queue from 9.30 and started at 108000.”
Others rejoiced, being some of the lucky ones to snag tickets.

Some ticket packages were going for as high as $1279 each, with the cheapest just $107.
Pre-sale ticket links were scheduled to drop between 8am and 9am AWST.
The suspense grew on social media in the early hours of Monday morning, with hardcore fans routinely checking their spam emails for the offering.
“Did anyone get the Coldplay tickets presale code today? It was meant to be received today for pre-sale tomorrow morning and there’s nothing in my inbox (checked spam as well),” wrote one social media user.
”Patiently waiting....” a second commented. “I just received my code by text so they should be on their way.”
WA Premier Mark McGowan attempted to add to the pre-sale ticket excitement, spruiking the concert on his social media channels.
But he was met with a string of frustrated punters.

Sharon Anne was clueless if she was in with a chance of securing pre-sale tickets despite registering.
Commenting on his reminder about presale tickets, Sharon responded: “Registered but didn’t receive any code”.
Another user, Helen Cooper, clearly had a frustrating morning, responding to Mr McGowan’s post with: “Where Live Nation is my code???”
Dale Turner was left in the same boat, writing: “Where is the presale password?”

The Coldplay Music Of The Spheres World Tour date comes to Optum Stadium on November 18.
It is the first time in seven years the band has played in Australia. The one-off concert stadium is the only show happening in Australia, leaving some fans over east disappointed.
