Head's incredible form lands semi-final honour

Travis Head has spoken after his 62 and two wickets, as he prepares to play in a World Cup final.

The player of the match said he sat next to Josh Hazlewood in the sheds and there wasn't much movement, describing the game as "hard to unpack".

Head said his side had hoped to be prepared for the spinning wicket that they were up against.

"I think we knew how it was going to play, we hoped we did and how he would adapt to it," he said post-game.

"Having had three or four days here, you train and you go to bed and you think about it for a few days leading into it.

"I think the wickets have been unbelievable throughout the whole tournament and we probably haven't seen one spin that much, probably had to play different.

"We knew it would be a grind and a battle and is what it is."

Head's honour comes after he fractured his hand in a lead up series against South Africa.

The opener didn't join the Australian squad until halfway through the tournament.
