Blizzard has claimed its Diablo 4 servers are “prepared” for launch this week.

Speaking on the recent Server Slam open beta, Diablo 4 general manager Rod Fergusson reassured fans that the team is ready for the mass influx of players at the launch of Diablo 4.

“We learned a lot from each of them,” Ferguson told GamesRadar in a new interview.  “We’re feeling better, like we feel good about that, like all the stuff that we’ve learned.”

“We’ve done the work we could do to make launch day as smooth as possible. And we feel good about where we are,” the Blizzard senior developer continued later in the interview.

Diablo 3’s launch was marred with server issues at launch, and due to the game’s online-only nature (which was far less common when the game launched in 2012) this meant players were entirely unable to access the game, something that lead to great fan outcry.

Diablo 4 will be released on June 6 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4, with cross-play and cross-progression for all platforms.

However, players who purchase the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions will be able to play it from June 1 at 4pm PST / 7pm EST (June 2 at 12am BST).

In our Diablo 4 review, we called it “easily a game-of-the-year frontrunner.”

“After playing Diablo 4 for dozens of hours, it makes it so clear why fans of the franchise were so bitterly disappointed with Diablo Immortal.

“Diablo 4 nails the core tenant of the series for what is an incredible action RPG, and a game that will challenge players’ skill level, as well as the strength of their marriages.”
