Selwyn Cobbo appears to be obvious candidate to come into the Queensland backlin, although Dane Gagai was named in the extended squad for Game II, while in form Titans Alofiana Khan-Pereira and Phil Sami are possible contenders.

On the pitch, the much-changed Panthers host the Cowboys in Penrith and the Roosters take on Wests Tigers to close out round 17.

Earlier, Jaydn Su'A starred as the Dragons scored five unanswered second-half tries to beat the Dolphins 26-6 and move back into the top eight.

Live updates: Panthers vs Cowboys2' Kyle Feldt thinks he's scored

The referee Liam Kennedy thinks otherwise.

Kasey Badger is in the Bunker and she correctly rules that there was an infringement for obstruction.

Feldt is denied, which is a shame because he did really well to get his hand out and plant the ball down.

1' Error at kick off from a rainy Penrith

The home side kick off in Penrith and the ball has gone dead!

Wow, that wasn't great from Paul Alamoti - and gives the Cowboys a penalty on half way.

Oh, it's raining pretty hard out in the west just as the game kicks off.

Team news: Panthers vs Cowboys

Straight over to a soggy Penrith now, where all the Origin stars bar Isaah Yeo are rested on both sides of the field.

(NRL.com)

Yeo will start on the bench in a gameday switch, but that's the only change from advertised.

Daine Laurie replaces fullback Dylan Edwards, Casey McLean comes onto the wing for Brian To'o, Brad Scheider starts at halfback in place of Jarome Luai and Liam Henry steps in for second-rower Liam Martin.

McLean and Luron Patea will make their NRL debuts

For the Cowboys, Jeremiah Nanai, Murray Taulagi, Reece Robson, Reuben Cotter, Tom Dearden and Valentine Holmes are all out.

Jaydn Su'A starred as the Dragons scored five second-half tries to beat the Dolphins 26-6 and move back into the top eight.

Tesi Niu scored the only try of a tense and tight first half to give the Dolphins a 6-2 half time lead.

But after half time it was all one-way traffic for the Dragons.

Tries to Raymond Faitala-Mariner, Christian Tuipulotu, Tyrell Sloan, Jack De Belin and Jacob Liddle got the Dragons into the lead.

Su'A had to play in the centres after starting in the second row, but excelled, running for 216 metres off 22 carries and assisting a try.

Kurt Donoghoe was sent to the sin bin late for the Dolphins, who missed the chance to move back into the top four.

BREAKING: Xavier Coates ruled out of Origin

Some breaking news.

(AAP)

Xavier Coates has torn his hamstring and will be out of State of Origin Game III.

Scans on Sunday revealed a low-grade tear in Coates' right hamstring that will keep him out for between six and eight weeks.

The Queensland winger limped from the field yesterday late in the second half of the gritty victory against Canberra in Melbourne yesterday.

Read more from that game here.

75' Brilliant tackle denies Farnworth!

Oh my, Farnworth showed some real class with the boot to break into space but he was spun around as he picked up and raced towards the line and lost the ball!

A brilliant tackle.

Key Event

69' Liddle scores now!

That sums up the way the Dolphins afternoon is going.

Jacob Liddle was just standing to the side of a contact when the ball popped free.

It popped straight off the ground and into his hands and he races over from short range.

Suddenly the Dragons are kicking away at some pace.

The kick is good and now it's 26-6.

Key Event

68' Kurt Donoghoe on report and in the bin!

He gave Molo a frightful whack across the chops in the build up to that try.

He knew that he'd made a mistake as well and apologised instantly, but it was a solid shot.

And, because this isn't Origin, that's a sin binning. No double jeopardy here.

Key Event

65' Jack de Belin crashes over!

Off the back of a really poor penalty for blocking the kick chase given away by Felise Kaufusi, Francis Molo offloaded to fellow prop Jack de Belin, who dragged four Dolphins with him to score.

Sensational power from the prop and the Dragons are just flying now.

Flanagan crashes his kick into the upright and it remains 20-6.

63' Jaydn Su'A drags Nikorima into touch!

That's hugely impressive from Jaydn Su'A, the Dolphins were really pressuring the Dragons defence there, but Nikorima made the unfortunate choice to run at the massive figure of Jaydn Su'A, who picked him up and dragged him into touch.

It's been a monumental performance from Jaydn Su'A so far this afternoon.

62' Isaiya Katoa with his fourth 40:20 of the season!

Well maybe the Dragons champagne needs to be put on ice, because Isaiya Katoa has just pulled out a sensational kick to put the Dolphins on the front foot.

Not even the pace of Sloan could get back to keep that ball from going out inside the 10.

Key Event

58' Now the Dragons are roaring!

Tyrell Sloan with the put down, but that was a try that involved just about very Dragons player.

Powerful running up the middle, principally from Luciano Leilua, and Jaydn Su'A, is starting to expose the tiring Dolphins defence.

Jaydn Su'A, playing at centre since the departure of Max Feagai, provided the final pass for that try with a really lovely run and clever pass to Sloan, who dotted down comfortably.

A really well worked try and the home fans are starting to really enjoy themselves now.

Key Event

54' Christian Tuipulotu crashes over!

A scrum on half way, a lovely set play move from the Dragons sees Kyle Flanagan find a wrapping round Tyrell Sloan at pace, who passes out to Christian Tuipulotu.

The Dolphins come across with its defence to take out the giant, 106 kg Aucklander, but they can't do it and his momentum carries him over.

Flanagan kicks from the left touchline and misses it inside left.

It's 10-6.

52' Connelly Lemuelu knocks the ball on in goal!

The Dolphins came very close there!

It was a lovely kick from Kodi Nikorima that Lemuelu chases after.

The bounce is horrible and, as Tyrell Sloan tries to slap the ball away he smacks Lemuelu in the eye, who knocks on.

The Dragons get away with one there.

49' Dragons make a mess of the restart

Bit to unpack here - Ben Hunt stumbled backwards as he fielded the kick off - and as a result his pass to a forward was late and he got tackled in goal.

The subsequent goal line drop out from Hunt went high, broke the plane of the 10 metres, and then got blown back towards the goalline, allowing the Dragons to field the ball.

Key Event

47' Raymond Faitala-Mariner crashes over!

He showed incredible strength there did Raymond Faitala-Mariner.

He got out of one leg tackle, then he spun out of a couple of others, crashing over the line and then planting the ball back onto the goalline.

It's a try, assisted by a lovely pass from Ben Hunt.

There's just a couple of flecks of rain on the camera lense pitchside behind Kyle Flanagan as he kicks and sends the ball across the face of goal.

It's 6-6.

45' Luciano Leilua crashes over, but I don't think he's got it down

It was a lovely break from Flanagan that put the Dragons on the front foot.

Connelly Lemuelu is pinged for a strip as Leilua barged his way towards the line.

So there will be a penalty and the pressure stays on from the Dragons.

41' We're back for the second half

The NRLW team flank the Dragons as they run back out onto the field.

The Dragons field the ball from the kick off and Jack de Belin runs it back - hard - into the Dolphins line.

Phins up
