Eagles football is back from Brazil!

The Eagles and Packers officially kicked off their 2024 seasons in the historic first-ever NFL game played in South America on Friday night.

First Quarter

After a touchdown play was called back to due offsetting offensive and defensive penalties, the Packers had to punt on their first drive. Green Bay lined up to go for it on 4th-and-6 but a false start set them back resulting in a punt. An interception by Xavier McKinney on a throw from Jalen Hurts gave the Packers the ball at the Eagles' 19-yard line. The defense held strong, not letting Green Bay in the end zone, but a 31-yard field goal from Brayden Narveson gave the Packers the lead. (Packers 3 – Eagles 0) Hurts fumbled a snap from center Cam Jurgens and the Packers recovered the ball at the Eagles' 13-yard line. The Packers were held out of the end zone once again after good coverage from Quinyon Mitchell and Darius Slay. Narveson knocked in another field goal to extend the first quarter lead. (Packers 6 – Eagles 0)

Second Quarter

TOUCHDOWN! Jalen Hurts threw a rope from the 18-yard line as Saquon Barkley made the grab in the end zone for the first Eagles touchdown of the year. (Eagles 7 – Packers 6) The Packers came right back with a score of their own – wide receiver Jayden Reed came around the right end for a 33-yard rushing touchdown the give Green Bay the lead back. The Packers went for the 2-point conversion, but Josh Jacobs was stopped by Nakobe Dean among others. (Packers 12 – Eagles 7) TOUCHDOWN! Barkley found the end zone for the second time, weaving through the defense on a 11-yard run. Hurts led the offense down the field completing passes to DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, including a 3-and-1 conversion via the stapled "tush push". (Eagles 14 – Packers 12) Once again, it didn't take long for the Packers to respond. Jordan Love found Reed again, this time through the air for a 70-yard touchdown – Love's longest touchdown pass of his career. (Packers 19 – Eagles 14) After a drive that lasted over five minutes, the Eagles finished the first half with a 38-yard field goal from Jake Elliott. (Packers 19 – Eagles 17)
