"Thank you so much," she said, wearing a champagne Dior couture gown, as she held onto her new award. "Thank you to the creatives of this show for trusting me with this part, to our cast and crew, to my beautiful pretend children, to my mom and my dad and Kush and Tommy who are in Australia, hoping that they're in their pajamas watching this."

She continued, thanking "my partner Kristian," referring to her boyfriend, Kristian Rasmussen but added, "He said, don't thank me so that I'm not on television, but I'm gonna thank you anyway!"

"Who else?" Debicki said. "Goodness. Maybe that's it," to lots of laughs from the crowd. "This is just astonishing to me!" she exclaimed, then thanked her agent and publicist. She ended, "I just wanna say thank you to my beloved and dear godmother who left us too quickly, too soon. This one's for you, babe."

Debicki's portrayal of Princess Diana in the final two seasons of the hit Netflix royal drama received widespread acclaim. Her co-star, Dominic West, told Town & Country that his favorite scenes on the show were with her. "I had the scene with Elizabeth Debicki in the plane where she comes as a ghost. I don't get many scenes with Elizabeth," he reflected. "I had that one last season where we were making the omelet. I really think she's done an extraordinary job and she's an amazing actress to act with. Those two scenes stick in my head quite a lot."
