The Crown's Elizabeth Debicki Channelled Princess Diana at the ...

Elizabeth Debicki has arrived at the Emmys, and the star is looking spectacular as ever in an enviably timeless black gown by Dior.

With a simple, squared-off scoopneck, highlighted by dangling De Beers earrings, her ensemble evokes the classic elegance that typified the late Princess Diana—whom Debicki played in the final seasons of The Crown. Diana herself, of course, became a style icon in part for knowing her way around a LBD—perhaps most infamously the daring "revenge dress" she wore on the night that then-Prince Charles admitted to his affair with Camilla on television.

Debicki is nominated this evening for her portrayal of the iconic royal in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category. She received the same nod for her work on the series at the 2023 Emmys, which took place earlier this year following delays from the writers and actors guild strikes last fall.

When her 2024 nomination was announced, Debicki revealed, "I miss playing that part." She also told Deadline, " I realized that the work that we have done in this show brings people really close to their own memories, and that’s a really unique kind of thing to feel a part of and also be witness to… I’ve had people be quite emotional, and then usually it ends with someone saying, ‘Can I give you a hug?’ It’s really beautiful and quite moving."

The Crown earned a total of 18 Emmy nominations this year—including for Best Drama, and acting nods for Dominic West, Imelda Staunton, Lesley Manville, Jonathan Pryce, Claire Foy, and Debicki. Over its six seasons, the show has racked up 87 Emmy nominations and 21 wins.
