Senior Liberal makes rude gesture towards journalist
The ACT Opposition Leader has apologised for giving a rude gesture to a journalist that was caught on camera.
Elizabeth Lee, the leader of the territory's Liberals, was completing a heated interview with local reporter Ian Bushnell yesterday in Canberra when she flipped.
Tension mounted as Lee was pushed about her party's policy costings, just two days ahead of the ACT election.
Lee repeatedly asked Bushnell if he was "finished" asking questions.
When he told her to just answer the question, she replied firmly.
"I will answer the question in my own way. And you don't get to dictate how I answer the question. Thanks."
While walking away from the interview with news cameras still rolling, a clearly frustrated Lee raised her middle finger towards Bushnell before leaving the room.
Lee later appeared before the media to apologise for her behaviour.
She is attempting to end 23 years in the political wilderness for the ACT Liberals when territory voters head to the polls on Saturday.
