One month after giving key testimony in Kevin Spacey’s sexual assault trial, Elton John had a night out in France with his friend.

John and his husband David Furnish shared a meal with Spacey at La Petite Maison, where a French group named The Snugglers performed Elvis Presley’s “Suspicious Minds” for the dinner party and posted a clip of the moment on Instagram.

On July 26th, Spacey was found not guilty of all counts in his sexual assault trial in the United Kingdom thanks in part to John’s testimony via videolink. While speaking for 20 minutes, John confirmed that Spacey attended his annual White Tie and Tiara ball in 2001, but did not attend any other year.

Furnish also gave testimony that he did not find any photographic evidence of Spacey attending the event other than in 2001. One of Spacey’s alleged victims had accused the actor of aggressively grabbing his crotch while he was driving with him to the ball in 2004 or 2005.

During the trial, Spacey was facing 12 counts of sexual assault relating to accusations brought forth by four men. The judge struck three of the indecent assault counts due to a “legal technicality,” and a jury found Spacey not guilty of seven counts of sexual assault, one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.

According to Variety, Spacey’s first film following his acquittal, Control, is slated for release in the US and UK on December 15th. In the movie, Spacey solely appears in a voice capacity as a mysterious figure who remotely hijacks the British Home Secretary’s self-driving car. The vocal contribution was recorded in London last December while he was still awaiting trial.
