Linkin Park Reveal Emily Armstrong From Dead Sara as New Singer ...
After a week of speculation and a weird countdown clock that reached zero before beginning to count up again, Linkin Park has revealed Emily Armstrong from rock act Dead Sara as their new vocalist.
Armstrong, who’s been fronting Dead Sara for close to 15 years, joins surviving members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell and Joe Hahn, alongside new drummer Colin Brittain, as the current iteration of Linkin Park.
The band also shared their first new song in seven years, ‘The Emptiness Machine’, which features Armstrong’s powerful vocals and shows what she will bring to the musical collective.
Along with the new single, Linkin Park is also gearing up for the release of their eighth studio album, FROM ZERO, their first since 2017s One More Light. Arriving November 15 via Warner Records, the 11-track record is the band’s first since the tragic death of vocalist Chester Bennington. You can pre-order/pre-save a copy here.
If that’s not enough of a Linkin Park news overload, the band is also playing six arena shows in LA, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul and Bogota as part of the From Zero World Tour.
Much of this information was revealed during Linkin Park’s special live performance in LA last night (September 5). If you missed it you can watch the entire concert on YouTube for the next 24 hours. Details regarding Linkin Park’s new album, tour and single can be found on the band’s website.

In a statement about this new version of Linkin Park per Revolver, Shinoda says: “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”
Of the band's new members, he adds: “The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touch points we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”
The announcement of Linkin Park’s FROM ZERO album follows the release of the nu-metal act’s Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023), a 20-track greatest hits album that arrived earlier this year.
