It was a positive week for Socceroos playing in midweek across the competitions, with victories in the Europa Conference League, AFC Asian Champions League Elite, and EFL Championship.

There are also some important games coming up this weekend as some prepare for their first Socceroos camp of a new era, under new Subway Socceroos Head Coach Tony Popovic.

Cameron Devlin (cap #625) and Kye Rowles (cap #622) started Hearts’ 2-1 win over Dinamo Minsk on Friday morning in the Europa Conference League. Rowles played a full game and contributed to the opening goal; his flicked header found its way in via a deflection. Devlin played 74 minutes as Hearts snatched the winner in the final moments.

The pair should feature again when the side travel to Aberdeen on Monday at 1:00 am (AEST) in the Scottish Premiership.

In the EFL Championship, Riley McGree (cap #509) made it back-to-back assists following his return from injury as Middlesbrough edged past West Brom 1-0 on Wednesday. McGree is set to start again on Sunday against Watford at 12:00 am (AEST).

Additionally, Harry Souttar (cap #606) helped keep a clean sheet for Sheffield United in their 1-0 win over Swansea City on Thursday morning. The defender should start again on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST) against Luton Town.

Also, Alexander Robertson (cap #630) played all of Cardiff City’s 1-0 win over Millwall on Wednesday. The midfielder will target another start on Monday at 1:00 am (AEST) as City face Bristol City.

Finally, Samuel Silvera (cap #634) came on in the 56th minute of Portsmouth’s 6-1 loss to Stoke on Thursday morning. Silvera could push for a start on Saturday at 9:30 pm (AEST) as Portsmouth host Oxford United.

In EFL League One, Keanu Baccus (cap #628) played the first half of Mansfield Town’s 2-0 win over Crawley Town on Wednesday morning. The midfielder is likely to start again for Mansfield against Blackpool on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST).

Jason Davidson (cap #545) played all of Panserraikos’s 2-1 win against Lamia on Tuesday morning in the Greek Super League. Davidson will likely start again on Monday at 12:00 am (AEST) against OFI Crete.

Maty Ryan (cap #555) was on the Roma bench in their 1-0 loss to Elfsborg on Friday morning in the Europa League. The Socceroos captain could be on the bench on Monday at 3:00 am (AEST) against Monza in Serie A.

Joe Gauci (cap #631) was on the bench as Aston Villa beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League on Thursday morning. Gauci could be in the squad again on Monday at 12:00 am (AEST) against Manchester United in the English Premier League.

Kenny Dougall (cap #608) and Curtis Good (cap #569) played full games for Buriram United on Tuesday night as they beat Central Coast United 2-1 in the AFC Champions League Elite. Good doubled United’s advantage at the start of the second half.

In the Scottish Premiership, Martin Boyle (cap #599) might be back for Hibernian when they welcome Motherwell on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST). Lewis Miller (cap #635) is set to start for Hibs. Apostolos Stamatelopoulos (cap #644) could push for a start for Motherwell.

Further, Josh Nisbet (cap #642) could be in action for Ross County against Celtic on Sunday at 10:00 pm (AEST).

In the Scottish Championship, Ryan McGowan (cap #546) is set to start for Livingston against Partick Thistle on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST).

In the EFL Championship, Callum Elder (cap #614) might start for Derby County in their home tie with Queens Park Rangers on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST). 

In the Belgian First Division A, Aiden O’Neill (cap #629) should start for Standard Liege when they travel to Anderlecht on Sunday at 10:30 pm (AEST).

Also in the competition, Jordan Bos (cap #632) is set to start for Westerlo against Beerschot on Saturday at 4:45 am (AEST).

In the Danish Superligaen, John Iredale (cap #640) will target some minutes for AaB on Saturday at 3:00 am (AEST) when they travel to bottom side Vejle Boldklub.

Further, Mohamed Toure (cap #636) and Paul Izzo could start for Randers against Lyngby on Sunday at 11:00 pm (AEST).

In the Saudi First Division, Connor Pain (cap #565) might play for Al Bukayriyah as they take on Al-Tai on Saturday morning at 1:25 am (AEST).

Alexandar Popovic played all of Kaya FC’s 4-1 loss to Sydney FC in the AFC Champions League Two on Thursday night. Popovic could start on Sunday at 11:30 pm (AEST) when Kaya face Davao Aguilas in the Philippines Football League.

In Major League Soccer, Lachlan Brook played the final six minutes of Real Salt Lake’s 0-0 draw with Minnesota on Thursday. Brook could get some further minutes on Sunday at 1:30 pm when the side travel to San Jose.

Elsewhere in the competition, Giuseppe Bovalina could be in the team for Vancouver Whitecaps when they host Minnesota on Sunday at 10:30 am (AEST).

In Polish I Liga, Louis D'Arrigo could get some more minutes for Lechia Gdansk when they travel to Stal Mielec on Saturday at 8:15 pm (AEST).

Jacob Farrell could play in Portsmouth’s home game with Oxford United on Saturday at 9:30 pm (AEST) in the EFL Championship.

In the Scottish Premiership, Nectarios Triantis could get another start for Hibernian as they travel to Hibernian on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST).

Jacob Italiano might get some minutes for Gazer AK against Austria Wien on Sunday at 1:00 am (AEST) in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Cameron Peupion could be on the bench as Brighton and Hove Albion host Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League on Monday at 2:30 am (AEST).
