Max Verstappen has won the previous five races hosted in the United States.

Here is what you need to know about the maiden Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Where and when is the race, how can I watch in Australia?

Las Vegas, the famous city in the middle of the Mojave Desert in the state of Nevada.

This is the third race in 2023 held in the United States.

It is the third F1 race hosted by the city, with the Caesars Palace Grand Prix being held in 1981 and 1982.

The only place to watch all the action is via the Fox Sports stable of broadcasting channels.

It will be available on both Foxtel and Kayo Sports, with the race starting at 5pm AEDT on Sunday.

What do I need to know about the track?

Great question. This is the maiden race for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, so we have nothing to go off.

It does look like an upside-down pig.

There is an expectation this 17-turn street track will be one of the fastest on the calendar.

The long, flat-out stretch of road between turns 12 and 14 appears to the the most obvious spot for overtaking, as well as turn 1, at the end of the start-finish straight.

The chicanes of turns 7-8 and turns 14-16 seem like the tricker sections of the street circuit.
