Government must 'double' its funding to stop fire ants - ABC listen

The fight to eradicate invasive fire ants in Australia is at risk due to underinvestment and funding delays, according to the Invasive Species Council. 

The Invasive Species Council has called on state and federal governments to double the amount of money they're currently spending on eradicating red fire ants. 

The ants pose major environmental threats, and could cost the economy up to $2 billion dollars per year.
