Key Event

3QT: Kangaroos burnt on the siren again

Three quarters, three goals virtually on the siren for Geelong.

That's the stuff that just kills coaches, and Alastair Clarkson will be ropable in the huddle.

Tyson Stengle slots the set shot after the siren to extend the Cats' lead to 60 points at the final change.

A bitter end to a quarter where the Kangaroos really dug in deep.

Another monster Tom Stewart game

Tom Stewart has established himself as the AFL's best interceptor over the last few seasons and he's at it again.

The Geelong vice-captain is up to 10 intercepts now to go along with 19 touches and four marks.

The game's top distance-eaters

Here's your top five players so far for metres gained in this one:

1.Max Holmes - 563m2.Luke Davies-Uniacke - 406m3.Tom Stewart - 353m4.Darcy Tucker - 321m5.Dylan Stephens - 312m
O'Connor adds to Geelong's lead

Mark O'Connor is the latest Cat to hit the scoreboard after he was the best to read a haphazard kick inside 50 from Ollie Henry.

Geelong definitely came out of the sheds a little flat, as is understandable when you're up by so much, but they're slowly clicking back into gear.

Lead is now out to a game-high 59 points.

Kangaroos trying to change the pace

North Melbourne with a notably more methodical approach to moving the ball in this second half.

They've put the ball in the hands of some of their best ball-users in a bid to transition from one end of the ground to the other, but the final product still isn't there.

Kangaroos strike first in second half

A lovely handball chain in the middle of the ground and the Kangaroos draw first blood in the third quarter.

Luke Davies-Uniacke with the running finish.

The Kangaroos have had the first two inside 50s of the third term, Clarko will be happy with this start.

Second half underway

The players are out on Kardinia Park for the second half of this one!

Interesting to note that Geelong's percentage has already gone up by 14 per cent courtesy of that first half.

Geelong's percentage currently sitting at 135.4, trailing the undefeated Giants' 144.

Could the Cats end the round as the AFL's ladder leaders?

Half-time stat check

Harry Sheezel racked up the ball at will in the first half and has 20 touches at the main break to lead all players.

Howeer, the top-ranked player on the ground has been Jeremy Cameron, who has 15 disposals and four goals. Cameron has also added a whopping eight score involvements.

Gryan Miers, Max Holmes and Jack Bowes all have 14 touches each.

HT: Cats extend lead via 'circus tricks'

Geelong once again beats narrowly beats the siren!

Some great forward pressure from Brandan Parfitt causes the Kangaroos to cough up the footy inside their defensive 50.

Cameron, who already has four goals, dishes off a no-look handball to Max Holmes, who snaps truly from a tight angle.

Dwayne Russell, on commentary for Fox Footy, marveling at Geelong's "circus tricks".

Geelong with a massive 51-point lead at the main break.

Larkey hits the scoreboard

Nick Larkey with a brilliant finish on a set shot from a very tight angle to stem the bleeding for the Kangaroos.

That's Larkey's 200th career goal. He's of course coming off a career-high 71 goals last season.

Key Event

Injury woes for Roos with top pick taken to hospital

The news gets worse for the Kangaroos here with last year's No.2 pick Colby McKercher subbed off early in the second quarter.

McKercher was nursing some sore ribs and has been replaced by Charlie Lazzaro.

Fox Footy's Sarah Jones reports that McKercher has been taken to hospital for further assessment on his ribs.

Meanwhile, the Cats' lead is now out to 40 points after a running goal from Max Holmes.

Cameron leading Kangaroos

Cameron's got his fourth of the first half and the Cats are out to a 32-point lead now.

The scoreboard reads Cameron 4. 0 (24) - North 3. 1 (19)

Jeremy Cameron looking ominous

Jeremy Cameron with two goals to start the second quarter, and the Cats are now out to a game-high 26-point lead.

A brilliant finish from an acute angle from Jezza, as he casually snaps it through on his non-preferred right foot.

"There is nothing this guy can't do," says Cameron Mooney on Fox Footy's coverage.

This is officially the danger zone for the Roos now. Cameron's got three already.

Key Event

QT: Cats beat the buzzer to steady

Brad Close slots one virtually on the siren to give Geelong a 13-point lead at the first change!

This one looked like it would be all one-way traffic in the first 10 minutes when Geelong shot out of the blocks, but the Kangaroos responded in terrific fashion.

As we mentioned before, Sheezel has been dominant early, leading all players with possessions.

Gryan Miers having another excellent game for the Cats as well, with three score involvements in the opening term.

Key Event

Sheezel cutting Cats to shreds

It's been a terrific responds from the Kangaroos after the early Cats flurry!

Consecutive goals to Blake Drury and Eddie Ford have the Roos back within seven points.

Harry Sheezel with goal assists on each of the last two goals with some darting kicks inside 50.

Sheezel already up to 12 touches in this first quarter.

Curtis stops the bleeding

The Kangaroos are finally on the board!

After spending the first half of this quarter defending, the Roos are able to get some territory going their way.

Two set shots for Paul Curtis, he misses the first one, but makes no mistake on the second.

Ugly start continues for Kangaroos

This has been a shocking start from the Kangaroos and Geelong is starting to make its dominance pay on the scoreboard.

The late inclusion Shannon Neale takes an uncontested mark inside 50 on the lead as multiple Roos defenders look at each other.

Neale slots it to give the Cats a 20-point lead early.

Geelong has 42 disposals to North's two in their forward half.

Complete dominance.

That Neale goal came after Geelong's second through this piece of magic from Tyson Stengle.

Key Event

Blicavs opens Geelong's account

Geelong is finally on the board as Mark Blicavs makes no mistake on a set shot from 40m out on a 45 degree angle.

The Kangaroos have been shocking by foot to start this one, and that turnover proved costly.

The inside 50 count currently reads 7-0 Geelong's way.

Geelong on the attack early

It's been all Geelong through the opening three minutes of this one.

Don't think the ball has gotten into the Kangaroos half of the ground just yet.

The Cats have just one behind to show for all their dominance though.
