The AFL Grand Final Parade in Melbourne will return to dry land in 2023.

100,000 fans are expected to attend as 2023 marks the ninth year the city celebrates Grand Final Eve as a public holiday.

The Collingwood Magpies and Brisbane Lions will travel in a motorcade at 10:30am on Friday morning, starting at Melbourne Park.

They will continue to travel along the Yarra River, before turning right at Birrarung Marr and ending at the MCG precinct.

The two-hour parade received mix reviews last year, as players travelled along the Yarra River on boats which separated them from fans.
