(Gray News) – More than 167,000 pounds of ground beef have been recalled due to possible E. coli contamination.

According to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, the beef was shipped to restaurants nationwide from Wolverine Packing Company, based in Detroit.

Since the beginning of November, 15 people who had eaten ground beef reported feeling ill in Minnesota.

A sample tested on Nov. 20 was positive for E. coli.

Both fresh and frozen items are being recalled.

The fresh products have a “use by” date of Nov. 14, 2024, while the frozen products have a production date of Oct. 22, 2024.
