Haryana Election: The BJP consolidated its lead in Haryana, wiping off Congress's initial gains in a huge turnaround as the party was on course to score a hat-trick in the northern state and form the government. Counting began at 8 am with the BJP taking a very early lead before the Congress cruised ahead. But the BJP caught up with the Congress and zoomed past the grand old party, touching the majority mark. The counting of votes for all 90 Assembly constituencies began at 8 am today. Haryana election result: 'Power of my name helped Vinesh Phogat win polls,' says Brij Bhushan

Former BJP MP and ex-Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, on Tuesday commented on wrestler Vinesh Phogat's win in the Haryana Assembly elections, attributing it to the influence of his name.

"If she wins by using my name, it only proves that I am a great man. At least my name holds enough power to help her succeed," Singh said during a public event. The former WFI chief also said that wherever Phogat goes, destruction follows her and it will happen in the future too.

"She may have won the election by herself but Congress is completely doomed,” he added.
