A beloved animated franchise is getting a fresh live-action twist, with Dean DeBlois, the visionary behind the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, bringing the iconic story to life on the big screen once again. Known for his work as a three-time Oscar® nominee and Golden Globe winner, DeBlois will direct this new adaptation of the original film that started it all. 

A Fresh Take on the Classic Story

Set on the rugged island of Berk, the story follows Hiccup (Mason Thames), the inventive yet often overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, reprising his voice role from the animated series). In a land where Vikings and dragons have been enemies for generations, Hiccup challenges tradition by befriending Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Together, they uncover the true nature of dragons, leading to a dramatic shift in Viking society.
