Hunter Valley wedding bus crash: What we know about the victims

A junior doctor and "an amazing athlete" were among 10 wedding guests who died after a bus they were travelling on rolled over late on Sunday night.

There were 36 people on the bus, including the driver.

The ABC has been able to confirm the identities of seven of the people who died in the crash.

Here's what we know about them.

Andrew and Lynan Scott

Andrew Scott and his wife Lynan lived in Singleton.

They both played Australian Rules Football (AFL) for the Singleton Roosters, alongside the bride and groom.

Ms Scott has been described as an "influential" half-back flanker who played her first season of AFL in 2017 in the Black Diamond league. 

Mr Scott celebrated his 100th club game with the Roosters last April, and was captain of the mens team in 2022.

They leave behind two young children.

Kane Symons, in his 20s, has been remembered as an "amazing athlete" by a local surf club.

The Tasmanian man had been living in Singleton at the time.

"Kane, otherwise known as 'Superman', was an amazing athlete who competed at the highest level," the Carlton Park Surf Live Saving Club wrote in a statement on behalf of his family.

President of the Tasmanian club, Christine Gaby, called Mr Symons a "leader, a great bloke and a mate to many".

"We adored him and he will be truly missed."

The Lauderdale Football Club also expressed their condolences.

"Kane was a friend to some of our current playing group and was a popular member during his time in Lauderdale," the club said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Our hearts also go out to the Singleton Football club and the families of all those who lost loved ones in this tragic accident."

Rebecca Mullen

Rebecca Mullen was a junior medical officer at the Calvary Mater hospital in Newcastle.

NSW Health Minister, Ryan Park, confirmed Dr Mullen was among the 10 fatalities of the Greta bus crash.

"This has made a very dark day even darker for New South Wales Health," Mr Park said

"We've lost one of our own. Someone who was obviously going to have a long and illustrious career in medicine has been taken way too early."

She was described by NSW Health as a "highly valued member of [the] team".

Acting chief executive at the Hunter New England Local Health District said the department is providing support to her family and colleagues.

"To have one of our own unaccounted for in these circumstances is a tragedy that is felt by us all," she said.

She is survived by her fiancee Sam Howard.

Darcy Bulman

Melbourne woman Darcy Bulman studied at La Trobe University and was a chartered accountant "with experience in forensic fraud and misconduct investigations," she wrote on her LinkedIn profile. 

She had most recently worked as an Australian Securities and Investments Commission investigator for three years in their Collins Street office, an ASIC spokesperson has confirmed.

Zach Bray grew up on the northern beaches of Sydney but was working as a mining engineer in the Hunter Region.

On his Facebook page he wrote about his pride at becoming an ambassador for The Gut Foundation after being diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2019, when he was aged just 25.

He posted photos of himself training for a commercial helicopter licence, something he said was on a "bucket list of things I'm just going to get done."

Tori Cowburn

Tori Cowburn was the captain of the Roosterettes AFL team in Singleton, and led the club to a Grand Final victory in 2020.

She also claimed the club's Best and Fairest Award three times between 2017 and 2020.

She was known as an all-sportswoman who played netball, touch football, tennis and basketball as well as competing in track and field events in high school.

The Singleton Roosters Australian Football Club has started an official GoFundMe to raise funds for those affected by the crash, according to its campaign page. 

"Our committee and club members aim to raise as much as we can to help the families with ongoing costs associated with this horrific event," it said.

The page, launched four hours ago, has received nearly $21,000 in donations.
