Hello and welcome to Sportstar’s HIGHLIGHTS of the IND vs BAN T20 World Cup 2024 Warm-up match from the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

India wins by 60 runs

A comprehensive win for India, but more than the win, the Men in Blue will be happy about the takeaways from this warm-up match. Rishabh Pant scored a brisk fifty at No. 3, Hardik Pandya smashed three back to back sixes and was at his destructive best with the bat, having put his woeful IPL form behind him, and Arshdeep Singh was spot-on with the new ball in the PowerPlay. Other than that, it was good to see Shivam Dube bowling three overs, and also picking a couple of wickets, albeit at the death.

Although Virat Kohli didn’t play, it was a good warm-up for Team India ahead of its campaign opener against Ireland on June 05 at the same venue. The conditions today weren’t really conducive to run-scoring. There was some awkward bounce, and the pitch seemed slow with the ball not really coming onto the bat. Moreover, the outfield too wasn’t the fastest, with puffs of sand coming off upon contact with the ball in some parts of the field. It will thus be interesting how India approaches its game, especially at this venue, where it has to play three matches, including the big one against Pakistan on June 9.

That will be all from us for tonight. Tune in and follow our coverage of the T20 World Cup, which begins tomorrow at 6 AM IST with USA and Canada facing off in the tournament opener. Until then, it’s goodnight from us!

Shorter, Tanzid steps out again and again clears the infield on the off-side for consecutive boundaries. This is on the hips and it’s tucked away for a single by Tanzid. Top edge on the pull as Tanzid gets lucky again and the ball falls just short of the fine-leg fielder. This one keeps low and Hridoy can only scuff it to mid-on.

BAN 27/3 in 6 overs

Axar Patel to bowl the last over of the PowerPlay. Pulled away by Hridoy in the deep midwicket region for a single. Pulled away to deep square-leg by Tanzid for a single. Hridoy now stays back and plays this with soft hands but finds the fielder behind point. This is going down leg-side and the batters also will collect a couple after getting the ball past the keeper. Chipped in the air by Tanzid as he again can’t really time his pull shot and he gets a single at deep midwicket. Dot ball to end the over as a stifled caught behind appeal is turned down.

Run out chance missed! Hridoy wanted a single after tapping the ball on the off-side but his partner hesitated. Both batters were almost at the non-striker’s end at the same time but the throw at the keeper’s end wasn’t great.
